RED COLOR ENHANCEMENT

Blue pigment in cichlids is enhanced most effectively by blue-green algae such as spirulina. Like COLOR SUPREME, this formula contains two applications of two different types of this potent algae, the first inside the pellet and the second in a form of coating on the outside. As it happens, there is no stronger blue pigment enhancer than raw, un-cooked, and un-compromised top grade spirulina. To put it into perspective, ULTIMA has one half the spirulina of this formula, yet it is powerful enough to impart an attractive blue color to even silver or gray cichlids. Spirulina, especially the raw form we like so much, when combined with NatuRose® (Haematcoccus algae) and Cyclop-eeze®, has a synergistic effect which deepens darker pigments while at the same time brightening lighter colors and increases the iridescence. This is a very unique effect among color foods and occurs only with formulas containing Cyclop-eeze®. Note: If the goal is to deepen the intensity of the blue only, our COLOR SUPREME formula is more desirable for this purpose. The color enhancement properties of COLOR FX will cause the blaze of many cichlids to spread dramatically over its back and sides. Once that happens, the colors stay in their place indefinitely. A Zimbawe Rock lithobates used in our Cyclop-eeze® enhanced VEGGIE DELUXE trial maintained the yellow color in his dorsal and back for over 18 months after the end of the test.

Dainichi Fish Food
Two weeks into the the feeding trial. Very metallic and blue but not striking
Dainichi Fish Food
Tenth week. The blue is much more intense and contrasts with the much whiter lateral bars.

The iridescence and richness of color of these displaying males is self evident. The developing white blaze adds a nice touch to the metallic blue.

Dainichi Fish Food
Another male but, of a darker blue variety. Four weeks into the trial, the white of the dorsal fin is developing some contrast from the blue of the body.
Dainichi Fish Food
After eight weeks, the depth of the blue is simply outstanding! The dorsal fin has taken on a bright white color. Had this been an iceberg ahli, the results would have been startling.

Dainichi Fish Food
Another look at the the brilliant blue and the degree of iridescence. Throughout the trial, all of the fish maintained their sleek shapes. Even individuals that tended to over feed returned to their normal body proportions within a day, and not a single fish became obese or bloated. The red 'tomato' in the upper left is a 'Hippo point salomon'. This is the only food in the world that can enable the spread of the red color to this radical extent. This formula not only enhances the intensity of the colors, it also grows its total volume. Another example of this unique feat can be seen in the red empress below. No Victorian cichlid and red empress hobbyist should go without giving this unparalleled formula a try.

The color enhancing properties of this formula are phenomenal. After all, there are seven applications of of color promoting ingredients consisting of shrimp, krill inside and out, Cyclop-eeze®, NatuRose® (Haematococcus algae), and two vastly different forms of spirulina, each with different color promoting properties. The sheen and brilliance are outstanding, and with a total fat content of only 6-7%, this is one of the leanest cichlid formulas on the market. Many hobbyists certainly appreciate the fact that their fish, like this iceberg fryeri and red empress pair, maintain a lean, muscular body shape. No oil slick on the surface of the aquariums is an added bonus.
