Therefore, as with all of our other foods, we completely abstain for formulating with any junk and filler ingredients. As such, we provide generous portions of marine proteins such as white fishmeal, antarctic krill, marine copepods as well as vegetable matter such as spirulina, garlic, peas and the vitamin E-rich wheatgerm. Further inclusions of vitamins and minerals like calcium carbonate and calcium montmorillonite clay round off the needs of these interesting animals
As an added benefit, the omission of the undesireable fillers and undigestible matter in this formula lowers the turtles’ waste output which, due to their size, can be a serious factor in a smaller tank or pond. This by itself, typically provides about 30% reduction in required food volume and any reduction in sepric load is a factor greatly appreciated by all!
